“So You Want to be a Judge?” program presented in October

“So You Want to be a Judge?” a program, designed to educate female law students, attorneys, and law professors about the process of becoming a state or federal judge in Iowa, was presented at the UI College of Law in October. The event was co-sponsored by the Infinity Project of Iowa, the Iowa Organization of Women Attorneys (I.O.W.A.), and the University of Iowa College of Law. The program featured a number of speakers who discussed and advised the audience about the process of applying for and interviewing for a judicial position.

Program panelists included: Judge Marsha Beckelman, Sixth Judicial District of Iowa; Magistrate Judge Celeste Bremer, Southern District of Iowa; Martin Diaz, State Nominating Commission; Brenna Findley, Governor Branstad’s Legal Counsel; Judge Amanda Potterfield, Iowa Court of Appeals; and District Judge Stephanie Rose, Southern District of Iowa.
