ExamSoft Officially Supports Windows 7
ExamSoft announced today that they are officially supporting Windows 7 with the latest version of the SofTest software, ahead of their previous date of Fall 2010.
To ensure you have the most recent version of the SofTest software please login to the ExamSoft site at http://www.examsoft.com/uiowalawand download and install the SofTest software.
If you have any questions please visit the Student Computer Support staff in room 130 of the Law Library.
Building Policy – Posting Signs
Posting signs around the law building are only permitted on designated bulletin boards. Postings are not allowed on glass and wood doors, windows, elevators, walls or other bare surfaces. The placement of any posting that is not on a bulletin board will be removed and discarded.
Please also remember to remove any signs or notices that you have posted that have become dated.

Fall 2009 semester exams is scheduled for Tuesday, December 8 through Saturday, December 19, 2009. Go to http://www.law.uiowa.edu/students/exams/ for information about the exam deadlines, the exam makeup policy, accommodation requests, and laptop exams.

Midwest Public Interest Law Career Conference – February 6
This conference will be held at the Northwestern University School of Law, Chicago, on Saturday, Feb. 6 and is open to first, second and third year J.D. students. The conference offers students opportunities to interview with a variety of public interest and government employers for summer law clerk and entry-level attorney positions, to meet with employers during Table Talk, a morning session where employers and students informally share information, and to respond to employer job postings for internships and fellowships on the MPILCC Symplicity.com site throughout the school year (for students registered for the Conference).
Students cannot register directly on the MPILCC Symplicity site. You must register with Cymie Wehr in Career Services and provide the following information via e-mail to cymie-wehr@uiowa.edu by November 30:

- Current Class Year (1L, 2L or 3L)

Students will be issued logins and passwords on December 14, 2009 and will use Symplicity to upload their resumes and make interview selections. Bar Exam Loans L3’s
For those students interested in borrowing a loan to pay for their costs associated with taking a bar exam (such as the bar exam registration fee, the bar preparatory course and living expenses after graduation and while they study for the bar). http://www.law.uiowa.edu/students/finaid/loans.php The interest rate and the ability to borrow a Bar Exam or a Bar Study Loan will be determined based on the student’s credit scores.
2010 FASPE “Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics”
FASPE is an innovative program for students in professional schools designed to address contemporary ethical issues through a unique historical context. The Fellowships provide law, medical, seminary, journalism, and business students a structured program of study that initially focuses on the role of their chosen professions in Nazi Germany and the Holocaust and uses that historic focus as a framework for the consideration of contemporary ethical issues. The various disciplines will explore topics such as The Rule of Law vs. “Lawlessness;” The Role and Limits of Bioethics, The Goals of Morality in the Face of Evil, The Responsibility to Report, and Ethical Limitations on Profit-Seeking. FASPE is under the auspices of the Museum of Jewish Heritage. Read more
ABA Summer 2010 Judicial Intern Opportunity Program
The American Bar Association Section of Litigation will begin accepting applications for its Summer 2010 Judicial Intern Opportunity Program on December 1 for L1 law students. The program places minority or financially disadvantaged students with state and federal judges for summer internships. Applications are due December 31.
