Dean Search Update – First Candidate Announced
The Dean Search Committee is pleased to announce Gregory Mark as the first candidate for the position of Dean. He will visit campus Thursday, November 19-20, 2009.
Gregory Mark is a Professor of Law and the Justice Nathan L. Jacobs Scholar at Rutgers Law School – Newark, where he serves as Associate Dean for Institutional Planning. He is also a member of the graduate faculty in the history department at Rutgers. Prior to his academic career, Dean Mark served as an associate counsel for the Office of Independent Counsel in the Iran/Contra matter. Before joining the Rutgers faculty, he was an assistant professor at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and a visiting professor at Chicago-Kent College of Law. He received a JD from the University of Chicago Law School, a MA from Harvard University and a BA from Butler University. He clerked for the Honorable Bruce M. Selya of the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Dean Mark writes in the areas of corporate finance, corporate governance, and American legal history.

Update on Flu Shots
The University of Iowa Hospitals does not have seasonal flu shots available. It may be as late as January before a new supply arrives. You can contact your primary care doctor to see if they have a supply of the seasonal flu shot.
The county dictates who receives the H1N1 flu shot. As of now only employees within the UI Hospital who have hands-on contact with patients can get the shot. No other UI employees are eligible.
Laptop Exam Software Purchase Deadline – November 23, 2009
Licenses for the latest version of the ExamSoft SoftTest software are available for $25.00 each at the ISBA Bookstore. The deadline to purchase the Laptop Exam software is 2:00pm on Monday, November 23, 2009. All previously purchased licenses have expired and you must purchase a new license to participate this semester.
The bookstore is located in room 218 of the Boyd Law Building and is open 9am to 2pm Monday through Friday.

Care and Use of the Boyd Law Building
Deliveries to the College of Law: If you have deliveries being made to the law school, please ask the drivers not to drive on the newly completed courtyard patio area. The round bollards were installed to prohibit vehicles from driving on the sidewalks and patio. Vehicles making deliveries should park at the 15- minute parking meters in the front of the building or at the loading dock in the back.
Recycle Containers: Please be courteous and put only the appropriate items in the marked recycle containers. Garbage should be put in the garbage cans and not in the recylce bins.
Smoking Prohibited on University of Iowa Campus: Smoking is prohibited in all University owned buildings, University owned or leased vehicles, and on all University grounds. This includes recreational facilities, athletic facilities, parking lots, and enclosed parking facilities.
Posting Signs in the Building: The College of Law does not permit signs to be posted on walls, windows, and doors. Any material that is not posted on a bulletin board will be taken down and discarded.
ExamSoft Officially Supports Windows 7
ExamSoft announced today that they are officially supporting Windows 7 with the latest version of the SofTest software, ahead of their previous date of Fall 2010.
To ensure you have the most recent version of the SofTest software please login to the ExamSoft site at http://www.examsoft.com/uiowalawand download and install the SofTest software.

Building Policy – Posting Signs
Posting signs around the law building are only permitted on designated bulletin boards. Postings are not allowed on glass and wood doors, windows, elevators, walls or other bare surfaces. The placement of any posting that is not on a bulletin board will be removed and discarded.
Please also remember to remove any signs or notices that you have posted that have become dated.
