Mentor Children with Incarcerated Parents

The United Way is in need of volunteers for its Children of Promise Program, which pairs mentors with children of incarcerated parents. Mentors connect youth with resources, safe places, and structured activities during out-of-school time time. Mentors spend a minimum of an hour per week with the children, increasing self esteem, social competence, school attendance rates, and academic achievement. Interested students should email Angie Blanchard-Manning at, or call 319-540-4195.
