Volunteer at the Agape Cafe and Help Feed the Homeless and Hungry of Iowa City

Agape Café is a local nonprofit that operates out of a building known as “Old Brick.” Old Brick is a nonprofit hub, located very close to campus at 26 E Market Street (just east of the Pomerantz Center and directly across Market Street from the John Pappajohn Business Building). This is a great opportunity for you to get involved with the local community, especially if lack of transportation is an issue that occasionally keeps you from volunteering.

Agape Café helps the homeless and hungry in Iowa City by providing them with a hot, delicious breakfast every Wednesday morning. See more about the Agape Café’s mission here. Laura Waldo-Semken, the volunteer coordinator for Agape Café has alerted us to an immediate need for committed volunteers. Details are provided below.

Needs for the Agape Café this semester:

•Tuesdays- prep/set-up help 3:30-4:30 pm (approximately)

•Wednesdays- potato chef 6-7am

•Wednesdays- 7-8:30am line chef (no cooking involved-simply plating the food)

•Wednesdays- servers 7-8:30 am

•Wednesdays- servers/clean up 8-9:30am

•Wednesdays-clean up 8:30-9:30am
